Check yourself against these “I can” statements.
- I can multiply a decimal by a single-digit whole number
- I can multiply decimals in my head using partitioning, doubling and halving
- I can multiply by 0.1 and 0.01
- I can multiply two decimals, like 0.3 × 0.04, using place value
- I can explain why multiplying by a decimal less than 1 makes a number smaller
- I can estimate to check where the decimal point goes in my answer
